Welcome
NPIRS
The National Pesticide Information Retrieval System (NPIRS) is a collection of pesticide-related databases available by
subscription. NPIRS is under the administration of the Center for Environmental and Regulatory Information Systems, CERIS,
at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.
Representing 150 different organizations, approximately 360 users access NPIRS for information pertaining to product registration.
These users mostly represent the private sector; however, there are subscribers from international organizations,
federal agencies, including the U.S. EPA and USDA, state organizations, colleges, and universities. Many individuals use
NPIRS to assist in registering pesticides and developing market strategies based on currently registered products or
pending registrations.
NSPIRS
The NPIRS State Pesticide Information Retrieval System (NSPIRS) is a subset of the NPIRS databases. Thirty-two states, government
agencies, or universities subscribe to NSPIRS. With each subscriber having as many as 20 users, approximately 640 users access
NSPIRS for state pesticide registration information.
