Data Quality
NPIRS and the U.S. EPA are committed to providing timely and accurate pesticide registration data. This mutual concern for data
quality became the catalyst for NPIRS developing a mechanism to report data discrepancies found in the NPIRS
member, public, or hosted websites.
Data quality issues are initially received and reviewed by NPIRS to determine validity and identify the nature of the issue.
Federal data quality issues are forwarded to the U.S. EPA for further consideration while state data quality issues are evaluated by
NPIRS to determine if a resolution requires state involvement. Data quality issues may result from processing the data or they may
originate in the data prior to processing.
